Visual Arts Society

Art programmes for all ages.

The National Gallery runs day time, evening and weekend workshops for all age groups and skill levels, throughout the year, covering a wide variety of art-related topics from life drawing to photography, abstract painting, ceramics and more. For specific courses check out their websites www.nationalgallery.org.ky.

The Visual Arts Society (VAS) runs day time, evening and weekend workshops for all age groups and skill levels, throughout the year based on community interest. The workshops cover a wide variety of art-related topics from figure drawing, abstract art, photography, jewellery making, batik etc. VAS also offers an Open Studio whereby artists can work independently on their creative work and the studio can be rented for private workshops or exhibits.

VAS has a strong expertise in ceramics (the studio is equipped with a kiln, tools, glazes and clay can be ordered) and they offer workshops and an open studio to both adults and children. On occasion they offer workshops to artists on how to present your artwork, market yourself, use social media to benefit your art sales and how to prepare for an exhibit.

They also offer art and craft camps after school, during school breaks and in the summer. The camp is held at the studio on the grounds of Pedro St. James, which provides an inspiring location and space for painting, drawing, arts and crafts and ceramics, with plenty of room for the children to enjoy the outdoors.
