As Christmas approaches and our social calendars fill up, navigating the Island’s festive party scene can be particularly hard work when you have children in tow! Keep everybody happy and in good cheer this year with Cayman Parent’s family-friendly Christmas calendar.
Enjoy a night of festive night of Bingo on December 13th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Mary Miller Hall. Dress in festive colors and enjoy Grandma Judy’s famous spaghetti dinner – for only $10pp, or 3 tickets for $25. All proceeds go towards supporting youth programs at the YMCA!
Children in Cayman are lucky enough to have two weekly visits from Santa in Camana Bay. On Thursdays (5pm-7pm) throughout December little ones can have their photos with Traditional Santa and on Saturdays (3pm-5pm) Santa goes Island-style with his tropical shirt and shorts.
From November 23rd (3pm-7pm) Santa will be joined by Elsa (!) from Frozen, at Celebrations Cayman (64 Kingbird Drive, George Town). Try out Santa’s trusty Naughty and Nice meter, write down your name on the Registry of Wishes and post your Christmas list in the mailbox of letters for Santa.
Don’t miss the Kimpton’s life-sized gingerbread bar + house crafted from 800lbs of spiced cookie dough, 350lbs of icing, and 100lbs of candy. The bar stands 12 feet tall and 15 feet long and offers festive signature cocktails for a sweeter way to toast the season. Open the 2nd December 2019-4th January 2020.

Join (or watch!) as a parade of Santas, big and small, make their jolly way around Camana Bay for the 2019 Santa Run on Sunday, December 14th! This family-friendly run starts at 6.30am on the Crescent. Costumes and festive accessories encouraged!

Join in the countdown to the switching on of the lights of Camana Bay’s 40ft Christmas tree! This event does get quite busy and we recommend booking a table at one of the nearby restaurants (Brooklyn Pizza + Pasta, Mizu or The Waterfront) or bars (Karoo or The King’s Head) for a great vantage point. Join Girlguiding Cayman for their Christmas crafts and arts Bazaar on November 23rd (10am-2pm) where there will be crafts, baked goods, handmade jewelry, henna tattoos and so much more! All proceeds support Girlguiding Cayman.
The Singing Christmas Tree is a spectacular event which highlights the story of Jesus’ birth depicted through a 25 foot Christmas tree encased with over 5,000 lights and 60 local and international performers. The 90 minute show is accompanied by a superb orchestra. 23rd and 24th November 2019.
