CCMI Ocean Science Scholars – Marine Internship Programme (Education or Research focused)
Internships at the Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI) provide an exciting opportunity for early career scientists and educators to gain real life experiences in marine science education, communications, research, and field station operations. CCMI maintains active field research and education programmes in the Cayman Islands supported by a team of scientists, educators, outreach and communications coordinators. Internships are 3-6 months long, dependent on the interns availability and CCMI's needs. Internships typically run from January-June, July-December or January-March, April-June, July-September, or October-December.
Age/ study level: Open to 18+ year olds (must be legal adult) and to current students or recent graduates.
Status: Must be Caymanian or a permanent resident.

Young Environmentalist Leadership Course (YELC)
Central Caribbean Marine Institute's (CCMI) Young Environmentalist Leadership Course (YELC) provides an opportunity for local students (ages 16-20) to carve their pathway into the water sports industry and marine sciences. YELC participants complete PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, and Rescue Diver certifications, and they attend a 10-day intensive, hands-on experience with CCMI’s education and research staff at the Little Cayman Research Centre. Students work on field projects as well as learn to use instruments and equipment to broaden their horizons and experiences that can be used in the workplace. Students also take part in night dives, lionfish dissections, CV workshops, mock job interviews, and assist with CCMI’s ongoing research. The YELC programme bridges an important gap for local students that do not have access to post-school education in the Cayman Islands, breaking down financial and educational barriers.

Every summer Acorn Media looks to hire a hardworking, enthusiastic intern who enjoys a challenge. This is a varied role which will include updating current content as well as researching new content across all the magazines, websites and apps. There may also be the opportunity to assist with marketing activities, digital content creation and social media content. The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands

CEC’s "Summer in the City" Internship Programme aims to award 25+ internship opportunities. Some internships will take place with Cayman Enterprise City (the development company) and others will take place within companies who are part of the three special economic zones, which include: Cayman Tech City, Cayman Commodities & Derivatives City, and Cayman Maritime & Aviation City. Each year Maples offer summer internships within various teams. The majority of interns return year after year, learning the ropes from the bottom up, and Maples welcome many to the group as a full-time team member following their graduations.
