Occupational Therapist

Mareli Joubert is an Occupational Therapist at KidsAbility.

Mareli is passionate about children, and assisting them in reaching their full potential and optimal functioning. She received her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2018 at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. She is board certified with the Council for Professional Allied with Medicine in Cayman Islands (CPAM), as well as the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Mareli completed her community service year at a provincial tertiary hospital in South Africa, where she spent most of the year in paediatrics. Here she gained valuable experience in a variety of diagnoses including cerebral palsy, down-syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) and intellectual disability.

Since completing her community service year, she has had the privilege of working with children in a paediatric private practice, as well as a well-established school-based practice. Mareli has gained extensive experience working in a multi-disciplinary team, treating a wide range of conditions, including developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder and ADHD.

She believes in adopting a team-based, holistic approach in order to accomplish optimal outcomes throughout the therapy process. She believes it is vital to work in close collaboration with parents to achieve a child’s individualized goals.

Mareli is constantly striving to improve her skills and broaden her knowledge through continuous learning and has recently completed the following additional courses and workshops:
