Public Invited to Attend 2025 Remembrance Sunday Ceremonies

The Cayman Islands Government warmly welcomes the community to take part in this year’s Remembrance Sunday observances, scheduled for Sunday, 9 November 2025, on both Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac.

On Grand Cayman, the ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph outside Elmslie Memorial United Church on Seafarers Way, George Town. A concurrent service will take place at the Cenotaph on the District Administration Lawn in Cayman Brac.

Both commemorations will commence at 10:45 a.m. sharp, and attendees are kindly asked to be seated by 10:30 a.m. Please refrain from crossing the parade area once proceedings have begun.

Wreaths will be laid by government representatives, military veterans, members of the uniformed services, and members of the community to pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed in times of war.

Guests are encouraged to wear a poppy, the enduring emblem of remembrance and gratitude. Poppies can be obtained at the Government Administration Building on Grand Cayman, the District Administration Building on Cayman Brac, or directly from the Cayman Islands Veterans’ Association, which will also have them available at the event. Formal and respectful attire that covers the shoulders and includes closed footwear is requested.

Please note that temporary road closures may occur near the venues to allow the ceremonies to proceed safely. Motorists are asked to follow all posted signs and plan alternative routes as necessary.

For details about veteran support or to make contributions, visit the Cayman Islands Veterans’ Association website at www.caymanislandsveterans.org. For general enquiries or additional event information, contact the Protocol Office at protocol@gov.ky.
