About

The Cayman Island Cancer Society (CICS) supports cancer patients in a variety of ways including counselling, peer support, wellness programmes such as art therapy and journaling workshops, hospital equipment for home - and financial support for those who qualify. They provide awareness and educational seminars, available to schools, businesses, churches and community groups. They host health fairs and continued medical education events to the public and medical professionals.

CICS is also providing those individuals who qualify with access to their Wellness Voucher Programme, which offers:

  • Pap smear tests
  • Prostate exams
  • Colorectal cancer screenings
  • Mouth and throat cancer screenings

Ways You Can Help

  • Online donations via credit card payment
  • Donation of Cayman Airways air miles
  • Become a member
  • Donating gift cards from grocery stores, wellness and beauty companies, utility companies (CUC/Water Authority) and other retail shops.
  • Cash or cheque donations.

Participate in their signature events (Stride Against Cancer, MOvember, Conquering Cancer Symposium) or follow and share their monthly initiatives on Facebook and Instagram.

Contact them to become a volunteer and support them year-round. CICS heavily relies on the time and skills that volunteers are able to contribute to help with fundraising events and patient support initiatives. For more information visit their website.

Who else provides similar assistance to CICS?

Both the Breast Cancer Foundation (year-round) and Lions Club of Tropical Gardens (October only) provide free mammogram screening vouchers to individuals who qualify. The Breast Cancer Foundation now provides wigs and bras for women in Cayman who have had breast cancer treatment or surgery. The Lions Club of Grand Cayman also provides free prostate cancer (PSA) tests for men who qualify.
