The Cayman Islands National Museum is located in Cayman’s oldest public building, the Old Courts building in George Town.
Permanent exhibits showcase Cayman’s art and traditions, cultural and natural history, including boats, furniture, textiles, paintings and ceramics.
Many of the Museum’s exhibits are interactive and include a simulated submarine showing our marine species and habitats, a 3D bathymetric map showing Cayman’s location in the Caribbean, two life-like talking animatronic figures, and an audiovisual introduction to Cayman’s history, environment and people.
There are changing galleries that features information on a variety of cultural history, natural history and local art-related topics.
The Museum Shop offers a wide selection of locally made products and souvenirs, and are the official distributor of the Cayman Islands flag.
Opening hours are Monday-Friday 9am–5pm, Saturday 10am–2pm and select public holidays.
Admission is CI$6.40 for adults, CI$4.80 for seniors (60 and older), CI$2.40 for children (6-12 years), CI$1 for local students, CI$5 for tertiary students, and free admission for members. Residents can also visit for free on the first Saturday of every month.
Note: Starting May 15th 2024, new admission prices will be rolled out: CI$10 for adults, CI$8 for seniors, CI$5 for children (6-12), FREE for children (5 and under).
