About

The Cayman Islands National Museum is located in Cayman’s oldest public building, the Old Courts building in George Town.

Permanent exhibits showcase Cayman’s art and traditions, cultural and natural history, including boats, furniture, textiles, paintings and ceramics.

Many of the Museum’s exhibits are interactive and include a simulated submarine showing our marine species and habitats, a 3D bathymetric map showing Cayman’s location in the Caribbean, two life-like talking animatronic figures, and an audiovisual introduction to Cayman’s history, environment and people.

There are changing galleries that features information on a variety of cultural history, natural history and local art-related topics.

The Museum Shop offers a wide selection of locally made products and souvenirs, and are the official distributor of the Cayman Islands flag.

Opening hours are Monday-Friday 9am–5pm, Saturday 10am–5pm and select public holidays.

Resident admission rates are CI$10 for adults, CI$5 for seniors, CI$5 for children (6-12), FREE for children (5 and under) and CI$30 for a guided tour for a minimum of 6 people (max 15) per appointment plus regular admission fees. Local students are $5 each. Residents visit for FREE every Saturday.
