Ministry of Social Development and Innovation

The Ministry of Social Development and Innovation provides support to Cayman’s most vulnerable people, advances the digital and innovative capacities of the Cayman Islands, and facilitates investment opportunities that support social development and facilities in the community.

The primary goals of the Ministry of Social Development and Innovation are to elevate the Cayman Islands and advance the economic, social and political interests of Government, people and businesses, for a more prosperous and sustainable future.

To assist and uplift vulnerable and disadvantaged Caymanians, the Ministry has been given the responsibility of reimagining and reforming social development, through meaningful, measurable, efficient and effective changes to Government’s policies and programs of social assistance.

Sunrise Adult Training Centre

Established in November 1986 the Sunrise Adult Training Centre (SATC) is a department within the Ministry of Investment, Innovation and Social Development. It is the only comprehensive government-operated education centre in the Cayman Islands that serves adults with additional needs.

Their purpose is to educate, support and serve the community. promoting therapy and employment opportunities to adults with additional learning needs; to enable their empowerment and maximise their independence, potential and quality of life.

At the Sunrise Adult Training Centre, clients can explore their full potential, and develop confidence, skills, and pride in their efforts and accomplishments.

They support people through their vocational programme, offer internship and employment support, provide counselling, financial assistance and housing support and support clients to pursue passions and talents through clubs and societies.
