Cutting-edge facilities and state-of-the-art architecture exist happily alongside the more traditional and very fine late nineteenth-century buildings, reminding staff and pupils alike of the long and well-earned reputation of the College, which successfully blends traditional values with twenty-first-century enterprise.
Sports Facilities: St Lawrence College offers some of the most extensive sports facilities in the region, including a water-based AstroTurf pitch.
Water-based Astroturf Pitch: The site has a full-sized sand-dressed Astroturf pitch. It is fully floodlit and is ideal for Football, Hockey and Tennis all year round. These pitches provide up to 9 floodlit 6-a-side pitches.
Swimming Pool: St. Lawrence College's indoor heated swimming pool is located near the Junior School and is suitable for both beginners and advanced swimmers. The 20m pool is maintained at a constant 29°C and has well-equipped changing rooms.
Tennis Courts: St Lawrence College has 23 hard tennis courts located around the campus.
Sports Centre: their indoor sports facilities include a Fitness Centre, Dance Studio, Indoor Climbing Wall, Squash,Basketball and Badminton Courts, Indoor hockey and Trampolining.
Cricket Pitches and Nets: St Lawrence College has 3 cricket pitches, along with cricket nets for training.
Sports Pitches: The sports facilities are extensive and impressive: New water-based astro pitch, 5 rugby pitches, 2 floodlit astroturf pitches, 23 hard tennis courts, 3 football pitches, 3 cricket pitches, grass athletics track, 2 squash courts and 8 netball courts
Extracurricular Activities
Field trips and expeditions are offered throughout the year and are well-supported by pupils and parents. Annual day trips include Art Department visits to London galleries, a Year 7 French trip to Calais, GCSE History Field Trip to the Somme, and many other local field trips including frequent trips to London to enjoy the theatre or a musical. Senior school pupils are given wonderful opportunities to travel the world and experience different cultures. In recent years, trips have been undertaken to South Africa, Iceland (Geography), CERN in Switzerland (Physics) and Tuscany (Music) as well as skiing in France and America.
Creative Arts are a vibrant part of life at St Lawrence College, offering every student the opportunity to express themselves, think independently, and develop technical and conceptual skills across a range of disciplines. Their provision in Art, Photography, Drama (including LAMDA), and Design Technology enables pupils to explore their creativity in depth, guided by expert staff in purpose-built facilities.
From Year 7 through to Sixth Form, students are supported to build confidence, embrace experimentation, and produce work they are proud of — whether on canvas, stage, screen or in the workshop.
