Facilities
Admiral Farragut Academy is situated on a picturesque, 40-acre gated waterfront campus that once housed the prestigious Jungle Country Club Hotel and Resort. Great care has been applied over the years to maintain and preserve the historic land and buildings that were constructed during the 1920’s Florida Boom Era. A major feature that separates Farragut from many other schools is the immediate access to the water. The waterfront facilities allow students to learn in a unique way and they also give students an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
Other facilities include
- A recently renovated gymnasium featuring the J.A. Huntley entrance and foyer addition
- A multipurpose stadium used for soccer and lacrosse teams with home and visitor sitting areas
- An eight-lane, state-of-the-art rubberised track surrounding the athletic field
- Partnership with elite golf, tennis and swimming clubs in the area for use by respective athletic teams
- Two sand volleyball courts
- Sand volleyball court on waterfront
Extracurricular Activities
Boarding students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities such as athletics, band, drill, the waterfront, intramurals, and the arts. Those who are not, are required to be out of the dormitories and be active outside, ie: jogging the track, playing basketball, etc. Every student who is interested can participate on a team and can attend practice and games. This experience helps students develop coordination and improve their wellness. In addition, students build their character by working with others to achieve a common goal, no matter their skill level.
