This charitable organisation operates on a strictly confidential basis and provides guidance and crisis counselling for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
This is a Teens And Young Adults domestic abuse prevention and awareness programme. Its primary purpose is to end the generational cycle of abuse. The programme consists of individual sessions, group sessions tailored to the community (e.g., schools, youth groups, churches) and awareness campaigns (presentations and workshops), to give youth the tools to build healthy relationships, identify unhealthy relationships, prevent teen dating abuse, domestic abuse and its long-lasting harmful effect on individuals and their communities. It also helps to develop resilience, coping skills and finding effective ways to conflict resolution.
The Cayman Island Crisis Centre survive on personal and corporate donations. They assists hundreds of people each year with their programmes and through their work, they expect to have prevented just as many domestic violence cases from happening.
