About
The Webb School was founded in 1870 by notable educator, Sawney Webb and is the oldest continuously operating boarding school in the southeast. Webb offers challenging academics with an emphasis on personal integrity for students in grades 6-12. Boarding begins in grade 7. Their small community of 416 students embraces students of diverse backgrounds, personalities and interests. The family-like setting at Webb provides personal attention for each student with an average class size of 13. A robust academic programme includes college prep courses, 16 Advanced Placement courses, 10 Honors Courses, and 5 Dual Enrollment Courses. Facilities
The Webb School is located on 150 acres in beautiful Bell Buckle, TN. The scenic town is quiet, safe and idyllic for boarding students to learn and enjoy their independence. Nashville is an hour away and Murfreesboro is 30 minutes away which is great for weekend school trips. On campus, they have three male dorms and three female dorms, a student centre, and state of the art athletic facilities, including a turf field and track. The new and modern gymnasium consists of a rock-climbing wall and a golf driving range. The Fine Arts building consists of a piano lab, guitar studio, orchestra space, pottery studio and visual art studio.
Extracurricular Activities
At Webb, extra-curricular activities are just as important as academics. Clubs and organisations are a way for students to gain important leadership skills and learn how to communicate and work together. They also are a way for students to explore their interests, get involved and make a difference!
Clubs meet during the academic day, so students can still be involved while also participating in after-school activities such as sports or theater. If a student has a certain passion or interest, and wants to start up his/her own club, that student can! They just need to find a faculty member to sponsor the club, and then recruit other students to join.
