About

YMCA of the Cayman Islands offers a variety of after school programmes, sports and camps that instil the YMCA's core values of honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and faith.

They are a charitable, cause-driven, non-profit organization that aims to help people reach their God-given potential by putting Christian principles into practice in ways that build a healthy spirit, mind and body. They are assisted by other equally passionate staff members and by a group of committed volunteers.

Camps are hosted during all school breaks, such as Christmas, Summer, Easter and half terms.

Their Counsellors-in-Training (CIT) programme is offered to teens aged 13-17 years and runs during summer and school holiday breaks. As a CIT, participants will inspire campers to explore, find new talents and try new activities while developing their leadership skills and confidence at the same time. The programme is free for participants and requires an application and interview process.

YMCA organises the Y Ropes Course which teaches kids (ages 7-17) critical and fundamental skills that can be used to be successful in life. Skills learnt include trust, problem-solving, communication, team-building, self-esteem and confidence. The course provides a wide range of educational, recreational, therapeutic and developmental purposes. Visit www.ymcacayman.ky/giving/ropeschallengecourse for more information.

Their Y Aquatics programme is aimed at swimmers aged 4-12. Through swim lessons the YMCA of the Cayman Islands provides a safe and fun environment for beginner to advanced swimmers. Their progressive swim lesson program ensures an efficient and fulfilling lesson, maximizing the learning potential in every session. Participants can progress through six stages of classes as they learn to swim, work to refine strokes, and advance their water skills.
