Sometimes parents just need to get out of the house and these classes for babies and toddlers in the Cayman Islands are the perfect excuse!

Here you will find a list of all the best classes and activities ranging from music, yoga and swimming to playgroups and open gyms.

These classes are suitable for children age 0-5 years old and are the perfect opportunity bond with your baby as well as meet other mums/caregivers and strike up new friendships!

Arts & Crafts

3 Girls & a Kiln is an art collective who make local art and other fun designs. They offers a kids drop in studio every other Saturday between 11am-2pm, with no need to book. The price for adults is $10 and $8 for kids, plus the amount for your chosen piece (anywhere between $12-$40). Pick a ceramic piece and have fun painting it with your child! You will also find themed arts and crafts gift sets so you can get creative at home too.

Movement and Dance

Centre Pointe Dance Studio is a fantastic dance studio offering high quality programmes. Two parent/caregiver and me classes are offered:

  • Little Bear Feet which includes props, action songs and nursery rhymes. With a focus on gross motor movements such as marching, walking with natural opposition, jumping, learning directions, and balance. Age: 2-3 years old.
  • Zumbini is an early childhood education program for children ages 0-5 years old. The program uses music and movement to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skill development, all masked behind a fun and engaging class!

Developmental Programmes

Cayman Theraplay

  • Precrawlers Series is designed for for mum, dad or nanny and baby to help facilitate development through play! Each session includes sensorimotor activities that promote cognition, visual motor skills, communication, and fine and gross motor development. They are facilitated in a way that is fun, engaging, and educational. Suitable for babies 5-8 months. Each series lasts six weeks and pre-registration is required.
  • Baby Sensory & Me is aimed for caregivers (carers and parents) and infants between the approximate ages of 8-13 months who are not primarily independently walking yet. This series offers a sensory-rich environment to create and strengthen neural pathways and to enhance your bond with your child through joyful shared experiences. Cayman Theraplay creates an environment focused on exploratory play that stimulates the vision, touch, sound and movement senses to support your baby's development, and for caregivers to connect while helping their baby play, thrive and grow. Each series is four sessions and pre-registration is required.

KidsAbility

Tots Talking
Join KidsAbilitys Speech Language Pathologists for an engaging playgroup that focuses on teaching language development strategies for children aged 6 months - 3 years old. Each session involves a welcome song, review of recent language development articles, interactive play tips with a focus on supporting language and communication, a fun craft/recipe to take home for your little one plus 10 minutes of playtime in their sensory gym at the end of each session, with the opportunity to ask the speech and language therapist any questions. This Language Development Group is ideal for parents and caregivers interested in gaining further knowledge about how their child is developing language, how to build a strong foundation for their childs communication, and what you can do as the primary caregiver to encourage and facilitate language development every day in your daily routines. Music

Jukebox baby and toddler classes are designed to explore music and movement in a creative, multi-sensory and exciting way. These are lovely, friendly classes for care givers and children alike.

Open Gyms & Soft Play

Lil' Monkeys is an indoor playground and cafe catering to kids ages 6 months to 10 years old, with a huge padded area for toddlers to enjoy. Parents can catch up over coffee in the Lil Monkeys cafe. No pre-booking or advance payment required.

Motions is an 11,500sq ft gym with a bouncy castle, trampoline and other child friendly equipment. For children aged 0- 6 years of age they offer a Toddler Play Day several times a week. These sessions are extremely popular and are a great way to meet other parents while your children crawl/run about and let off steam.

Caycubs is a soft play facility located in The Grove. This multi-sensory soft play facility and event space is safe, fun and inclusive and suitable for children aged 0-10. Story Time

George Town Library hosts a free Childrens Story Time from 10.30am-11.15am every other Saturday. Suitable for ages 0-5 years old. For dates call (345) 949 5159 or visit their Facebook page.

Swimming

Fitness Connection offers group parent and me swimming lessons from 8 weeks on-wards. A fantastic way to get your child used to water early on as well as an opportunity to meet other parents.   

Yoga

Kula Kids Cayman offers Mummy and Baby Yoga from newborn-24 months and Mummy and Toddler Yoga from 18 months-36 months.

Yoga Sprouts specialises exclusively in yoga classes for children, toddlers and babies. Ms Sarah offers several caregiver and me classes throughout the week. Currently classes are being held at the Centre Pointe Dance Studio.

Peace Baby Yoga for babies age 3 months-12 months, which involves gentle guided movement, massage and song.

Tots Yoga which incorporates yoga poses, free exploration, songs and rhymes and sensory activities. Suitable for ages 12 months-2.5 years.
