About

If you are a keen sailor, you will want to join the Cayman Islands Sailing Club and start sailing in the ideal conditions of the North Sound. Sailing lessons for adults and children are available throughout the year.

Dinghy racing usually takes place on the first Sunday of each month of the 10 month racing season, with J-22 racing on the third Sunday and the Cruisers (J-22 if desired) racing on the fourth Sunday of each month. There are also opportunities for those with their own larger sailboats, as the cruiser fleet arranges periodic races and rallies to the Sister Islands and Cuba, full moon sails and get-together ‘sailaways’.

The club also organise the very popular Wednesday Night Hartley sailing open to members and non-members alike; boats are rigged and ready for 4pm. Many keen Laser sailors also meet on Saturday mornings for informal racing. Ask to join the WhatsApp group.

Various types of sailing boats (whether for children or adults) can be rented by the hour, half or full-day and members get a discount. New members are warmly welcomed. Courses are available for adults to learn-to-sail while building teamwork skills.

Boat storage at the club is affordable and allows access to the ideal sailing grounds of the North Sound.

CISC provides lessons for adults and youth, and an extensive fleet of boats is available for hire to members and non-members. CISC also hosts kids camps during the school holidays.

CISC Summer Camps: Under the instruction of CISC’s talented and caring coaching team, another generation of youngsters get an introduction to the sport of sailing whilst having fun in and on the water. CISC offers camps for age ranges 6-16 during the school holidays.

Youth Sailing Programme: The Club has an active and successful youth sailing programme, that caters for all levels of youth sailors; from their first introduction to the sport, to sailors in the Youth Racing Team(s), who represent Cayman internationally and aspire to compete at the highest level.

The Sailing Club has a scenic clubhouse overlooking the North Sound and often hosts parties and socials throughout the year, including the formal Commodore’s Cocktail Party, the Annual Ball and Founders’ Night. There are also a range of more casual events, including BBQs, happy hours, quizzes, pool and karaoke evenings. The Social Committee aims to arrange an event at least once a month and the Clubhouse is generally open on Friday evenings, all day Saturday and Sunday for post-sailing or any other excuse for socialising!
